IT Category Manager

Join a well-established global Investment Bank with a strong presence in major markets. 

As an IT Category Manager, you'll lead technology procurement, oversee cost allocation, and optimise operational efficiencies. You'll manage relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders, collaborate with the Head of Procurement and a large Technology department spanning multiple locations.

Your role is crucial for streamlining IT procurement and cost management across the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Act as a procurement business partner by building strong relationships with business stakeholders and key suppliers, ensuring category management is recognised as a clear benefit.
  • Lead sourcing projects and contract negotiations, driving incremental savings through partnerships with external service providers and achieving savings targets across the EMEA region.
  • Develop and implement category strategies that meet business needs, collaborating with stakeholders to improve cost efficiency, manage tender processes, and ensure compliance with procurement policies.
  • Report on category performance, including savings, compliance, and risk management, whilst fostering productive relationships and working closely with Legal to finalise contracts.

Essential Experience & Skills

  • Relevant bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • Proficiency in IT Procurement at an Enterprise Level and managing IT budgets.
  • Prior IT Category spend management experience and proficient in negotiating complex contracts.

Desirable Experience & Skills

  • Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply (MCIPS) membership.
  • Financial Services background.
  • Understanding of cloud service provider cost models.
